Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Vanlife Assistant mobile application. By downloading or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About the App

Vanlife Assistant is a mobile application developed and published by Darren Vincent (trading as Vanlife Assistant), based in the United Kingdom. The app is distributed via the Apple App Store and is subject to Apple’s standard end-user licence agreement in addition to these terms.

2. Use of the App

Vanlife Assistant is designed to assist with trip planning, budgeting, vehicle management, and travel compliance. It is a tool to support your decision-making — not to replace it.

You are solely responsible for:

  • Ensuring your vehicle is roadworthy and legally compliant
  • Verifying that your chosen routes are legal, safe, and passable for your vehicle
  • Independently verifying your financial position
  • Complying with all applicable laws, including visa and immigration requirements

We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of information provided by the app.

3. Schengen Tracking Disclaimer

Vanlife Assistant includes a Schengen zone day counter and border crossing detection tool. This feature is provided as a convenience to help you track your travel history.

This feature does not constitute legal advice. Schengen rules, border policies, and individual country requirements can change. The accuracy of the tracker depends on the location data available to your device and the completeness of your travel records within the app.

You are solely responsible for ensuring your compliance with Schengen area regulations and any applicable visa requirements. Always verify your status with official sources before making travel decisions. We accept no liability for visa overstays or immigration penalties of any kind.

4. In-App Purchases

Vanlife Assistant is a paid application available for a one-time purchase price. Additional content, including regional Spot Pack datasets, may be available as optional in-app purchases.

  • All purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store
  • All sales are final unless otherwise required by applicable consumer law
  • Apple’s standard refund policies apply to all transactions
  • Spot Pack data is licensed for personal use only and may not be extracted, redistributed, or shared

5. Intellectual Property

The app, including all code, design, trademarks, database rights, and other intellectual property, belongs to Vanlife Assistant. You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on your Apple devices in accordance with Apple’s App Store terms.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app or any part of it. You may not use our name or trademarks without prior written permission.

6. Data & Privacy

Vanlife Assistant does not collect your personal data. All app data is stored locally on your device. Where iCloud sync is enabled, your data is managed within your personal Apple iCloud account. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Limitation of Liability

Vanlife Assistant is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any specific feature will be available at all times.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vanlife Assistant shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to:

  • Navigation or routing decisions
  • Financial planning or budgeting decisions
  • Vehicle maintenance decisions
  • Immigration or visa compliance
  • Data loss resulting from device failure

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

9. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
